
Ross Gough
Prior to founding Rivermont, Ross was a Partner and Analyst at Southpoint Capital Advisors LP from 2011 to 2020. He worked directly with portfolio manager Josh Clark and contributed substantially to the portfolio returns. He managed a team and created an investment process for idea generation, research, and investment recommendation for long/short equity positions. He was a generalist investor covering TMT, financials, healthcare, industrials, business services, and consumer sectors. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Managing Director and Analyst at Williamson McAree Investment Partners and honed his expertise in long/short investing. Prior to Williamson McAree, he was an activist investor for Breeden Partners, identifying private equity-like investments in public markets. He worked with many management teams and boards of the portfolio companies. In 2006, he was an Analyst at North Sound Capital where he covered the media and telecom sectors. He started his career at JPMorgan Asset Management as an analyst in 2004. Ross holds a B.S. in Commerce from University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. He currently sits on the board of the Jefferson Trust at the University. He is a CFA charterholder. Ross lives in New York City with his wife and two children and enjoys playing competitive tennis in his free time.
